PRODUCTS
Fresh Flowers
We grow a wide variety of fresh flowers, grasses and foliage. Depending on the variety, our flowers should last a minimum of 5 days and up to 12 days in a vase, if the below care instructions are followed. The petals and pollen may drop because we do not spray the flowers with anything to hold them.
Fresh Flower Care
Re-cut the stems of your flowers with a clean sharp secateurs or flower snips, and place in fresh cool water right away. Refresh the water every 2-3 days to help your flowers last longer. You can also re-cut the stems each time you change the water to remove blocked or sealed stem ends. Keeping the flowers in a cool place, and out of direct sunlight, will help them last the longest.
Bouquet composition
Our bouquets change throughout the seasons as all of our flowers are seasonal, locally grown, and grown without additional chemical inputs or heat. Our bouquets are made to a specific stem count and to a recipe we create each week based on what is flowering and ready for harvest. We grow a balanced number of crops so that bouquets will always have a balance of focal, filler, and airy flowers, as well as foliage. Each bouquet is unique and the website shop images are for indication purposes only. In addition, some flowers will be at “opening bud” stage, as this is the best stage to harvest certain flower crops, and it will help your blooms to last longer.
Supply & Provenance
We only ever sell locally grown flowers and foliage. In the event of supply difficulties, adverse weather, or crop loss for other reasons, we reserve the right to substitute flowers and foliage of equal quality and value, grown within the county of Kerry. We will never substitute flowers or foliage with imported stock. We will only ever buy external flower or foliage stock from local growers in County Kerry.
Dried Flowers
Dried flowers will provide months of enjoyment and, with the right care, can even last for years. Being a natural product, with no dyes, bleaches or chemical treatments, they change over time which adds to their charm. Here’s how to get the best from your dried flowers.
Dried Flower Care
Keep dried flowers, or dried flower product, in a cool to warm, dry and somewhat airy spot (avoid temperature extremes, and humidity or dampness basically). A kitchen or bathroom is not a good place for them as these rooms get very humid, and dried flower stems can wilt or go mouldy if they get damp. Dried flowers fade naturally over time, but they will keep their colour longer if you can avoid placing them in direct sunlight. Choose a position where they won’t be brushed past, knocked, or arouse the curiosity of little people or pets; they are light and fragile. If they get dusty you can blow the dust off gently with a hair drier on the lowest setting.
Dried Bouquet or Wreath composition
Our dried flower bouquets will not always be identical to the photo shown. Each of our dried flower bouquet sizes, styles or categories will be made following a balanced recipe of dried flower forms, colours and number of stems. However, it is unlikely that any 2 bouquets or posies in the same category will look identical. Where dried flower wreaths are listed as size categories, the same applies. In the event that the individual wreath is being sold as unique, it will state in the product description that the photo accurately portrays the product you will receive.
Supply & Provenance
All of our sustainable, eco-friendly dried flowers are dried naturally with no dyes, bleaches or chemicals. All of the flowers we dry are entirely grown by us in Killorglin, County Kerry, without chemical fertilisers or pesticides, and are not dipped in chemical fungicides to preserve them. We never, buy, sell or dry imported flowers from flower wholesalers (grown in Europe, South Africa, USA, Mexico, Columbia, Israel, Kenya, Ecuador…) nor do we import dried/bleached/dyed flowers from China. We only sell dried flowers we have grown & dried ourselves.
